A Privacy-Preserving E-ticketing Protocol Using Blockchain Technology
摘要
E-ticketing provides an efficient and convenient way to purchase tickets. Therefore, traditional ticketing model has been replaced. However, E-ticketing faces issues with information security and lack of transparency. In terms of information security, privacy information is exposed during transactions, weakening the purchaser’s rights and interests when attacks occur. Moreover, the lack of transparency in the transfer process makes it difficult to verify the source and authenticity of the tickets. Often, it is only after the transaction is completed that the purchaser realizes the tickets are fake. To resolve these issues, this research proposes a blockchain-based solution for E-ticketing. Utilizing blockchain technology features such as immutable, decentralized, and distributed ledgers ensures the security and transparency of transactions within the E-ticketing system. The decentralized feature can reduce potential failures and opportunities for fraud. The immutable distributed ledgers ensure the security of tickets, making sure they can’t be altered. As a result, blockchain can enable an automated purchasing process using smart contracts, which will follow standard transaction procedures. With smart contracts, E-ticketing can significantly reduce malicious behavior, which in turn enhances the security and transparency of the user experience.
