Cashew nut (Anacardium occidentale L.) is an economically essential tropical crop. Indian cashew kernels are exported to over 60 countries in the world, primarily to the USA, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, UAE, and so more. The state of Maharashtra has the highest cashew productivity and production. At the moment, raw cashew nuts are partially available for processing in India because African nations have started processing cashew nuts themselves. Therefore, in order to become self-sufficient in raw cashew nut production, there is an urgent need to enhance domestic production of raw cashew nuts by expanding the area under high-yielding variety plantings and advancing technology to increase productivity per unit area. In this industry, most of the operations are done by women workers, age group of 18–60 years. During these operations, these women are not trained to follow any scientific approach to the tasks. As a result, they have occupational health issues, such as low back pain, knee pain, and cervical pain, and are susceptible to several musculoskeletal disorders limiting their active work life. There is a need to conduct a workplace and process improvement study in cashew processing units. The key purpose of this study is to improve the workplace efficiency and productivity of the workers by giving better implementation solutions. The key methodology of this study is video analysis of critical tasks, postural assessment, biomechanical analysis, Anthropometric analysis, prototype development and so more.
