India, which prioritised silk and cotton, absorbed East India Company commercial visual culture. Like India, Andhra Pradesh has a thriving visual culture. The state in southern India shares boundaries with Tamil Nadu to the south and Orissa to the north. Coastal dwellers are supported by the fishing business. Fishermen decorate their bright boats with flags of their countries, images of animals and birds, names of local deities, floral motifs, and a variety of colour schemes. This study concentrated on well-known coastal fishing villages and other regions of Andhra Pradesh. To understand local customs and beliefs, this study looks at hand-painted artwork and depictions of national deities on fishing boats.
