Recent developments in brain research have highlighted the benefits of using biophilic elements in educational setups. Also, educational frameworks such as India’s National Curriculum Framework (NCF) have mentioned nature-based learning for aesthetic, and cognitive development. While literature highlights the advantages of nature-based learning for young children there is a gap in the literature on case studies of using pedagogical tools towards this end. Biophilic elements in curricular and pedagogical materials have the potential to enhance the mood, create immersion and improve learning. Keeping this in mind, this paper has systematically analysed possible natural materials that can be used in school setups for 3–6-year-old children and then has developed pedagogical tools. This paper then reports the conduct of classroom sessions using these tools and the responses of children and teachers. It was observed that the use of nature-based tools had aroused curiosity in children and engaged them in activities.

摘要
