With the intensification of the information revolution and the digital divide, human enhancement design continuously pushes the boundaries of traditional concepts and practices. This paper analyzes the Chinese film “New Gods: Nezha Reborn” and Japan’s “Jizai Arms” project to explore the imagination, representation, and practical processes of body augmentation. “New Gods: Nezha Reborn” employs advanced digital animation technology to re-technologize the traditional mythological image of Nezha, creating visually striking scenes. The “Jizai Arms” project showcases the integration of technology, space, and art in body augmentation through the combination of mechanical arms and virtual avatars. Based on this analysis, the paper demonstrates how digital art and robotics extend human senses and unleash creativity, offering new possibilities for artistic expression and human–computer interaction. It also argues that the traditional image of the “standard human body” has gradually faded, replaced by diverse body images shaped by social constructs. This shift is not only reflected in technological practices but also prompts us to rethink human self-perception and interaction with the world.

From “Nezha” to “Jizai Arms”: Expanding and Challenging the Boundaries of the Body Through Digital Art
