Blockchain Empowers Charitable Donations: Integrating the Verifiable Credential and Cross-Chain Supervision
摘要
Traditional charity donations are essential to fostering social cohesion. However, the centralized design of charitable donations, which occasionally lacks transparency, erodes public trust in them. Blockchain-based charity solutions have been put forth. However, regulatory problems and identity verification are often overlooked in decentralized systems. We propose a donation scheme based on cross-chain monitoring using verifiable credentials (VC) to overcome these issues. We create a supervisory chain to monitor donation activities and introduce VC, which guarantees the veracity of user identities throughout registration on the regulatory chain. We design appropriate smart contracts for every step of the donation process to guarantee the reliability of the goods data uploaded to the blockchain and ensure transparency in the transfer of goods. We evaluate the overhead of the system and compare our scheme with the existing ones in terms of functionality. The experimental results show that our scheme has superior performance and high efficiency.
