Ensuring well-being is crucial in life. However, more and more students are experiencing mental health issues nowadays. Therefore, it is essential to focus on the positive aspects of life, including the positive emotions and strengths of students. Incorporating positive psychology in educational institutions can have infinite positive outcomes. Positive education has made school-based interventions, including PERMA and PERMAH framework and VIA Character Strengths. Students are taught to focus on positive strengths in themselves and others which leads to an increase in life satisfaction, prevention from depression, encouragement in social responsibility, happiness, focus on learning and enhancing academic achievement. These interventions teach students to focus on their positive strengths, as well as those of others, which results in increased life satisfaction, prevention of depression, encouragement of social responsibility, happiness, better focus on learning, and improved academic achievement. Against this backdrop, this chapter examines positive psychology at the meta-psychological level and explores possibilities of positive education in the Indian context of schooling.
