Perspectives on Positive Schooling in India

Positive schooling and positive education are developmental efforts that deserve preference over preventive and remedial approaches. Positive schooling involves the transformation of the ecosystem in the schools’ context, and, providing positive education. It involves all the stakeholders at the school: the children, parents, teachers, principal, supporting staff and other cooperating agencies. Parents and teachers are given learning opportunities to understand aspects of positive parenting, PERMA, physical health, resilience, character strength, and, the behavioural and emotional problems of children. In India experiences at NEHA with an ALPA approach and positive schooling opened the windows leading to understanding the issues and challenges faced in India while implementing a positive schooling program.
