Role of Ergonomics/Human Factors and Its Implementation in Design Process
摘要
Ergonomics and design play pivotal roles in creating products and environments that optimise human performance, comfort, and satisfaction. This intersection of ergonomics and design highlights their mutual influence and emphasises the importance of considering human factors in the design process. By integrating ergonomic principles into design practices, manufacturers and designers can enhance the user experience, improve productivity, and prevent potential health issues. In this study, we are analysing the role of ergonomics in design and user ability enhancement after applying the ergonomics principle. The data was collected using Scopus, Google Scholar, and books using the keywords ergonomics and design, anthropometry, biomechanics, workstation design, and human–tool interaction. After rigorous analysis, it was found that ergonomics play an important role in developing the design and increasing user satisfaction. This paper provides in-depth knowledge and case studies to prove the same. Ergonomics and design form a symbiotic relationship in which ergonomic principles guide the design process, leading to the creation of products and environments that prioritise user comfort, safety, and satisfaction.
