Electronic gadget repair service shops are widespread across every city in India, generating revenue of $20 billion annually and generating 5 million direct jobs. A major part of it belongs to the unorganised sector, where the worker is prone to different occupational disorders, this study aims to identify occupational disorders among the phone repair workers in India. A postural study through RULA and a modified Nordic questionnaire study were done among 35 randomly selected repair technicians from the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. MSDs in neck, lower back and strain in eyes were found to be highly prevalent among the technicians of higher experience groups and those working > 10 h. Technicians also reported injuries related to cuts and burns on fingers, and few also reported being exposed to battery blasts. It is evident from the study that the technicians are at high risk of MSD, an effective intervention is the need of the hour in this sector.
