Cognitive Ergonomics at Metro Stations: Enhancing User Experience and Safety

This study delves into the crucial realm of cognitive ergonomics within the context of metros and metro stations, aiming to optimize passenger comfort, safety, and efficiency in urban public transportation systems in Ahmedabad India. The abstract examines various factors ergonomically such as seating arrangements, handrail placements, lighting, signage, and spatial design, evaluating their impact on user experience and overall wellbeing. By synthesizing data from both qualitative and quantitative sources, this study proposes evidence-based recommendations to enhance ergonomics in metros and metro stations, ultimately promoting a more comfortable and sustainable public transportation environment for urban commuters and reducing their cognitive load. The paper particularly focuses on the design solutions for daily metro commuters in order to reduce the chances of losing the token while travelling.
