The popularity of IoT-based smart homes is increasing rapidly due to advancements in information and communication technologies (ICT). It is essential to prioritize security measures when using IoT components like sensors, as they can gather sensitive information. A secure, lightweight authentication system can ensure confidentiality and integrity for users and smart devices. The proposed method safeguards the network and provides secure communication. The proposed method was verified informally and formally with the AVISPA tool. It was also compared to other schemes in terms of costs.
