Smart Living, Sustainable Future: Enhancing Homes with Automation and Energy Meters
摘要
In daily life, achieving efficient management of energy and comfort can be a challenging task, especially in the absence of automated technology. The inability to remotely control appliances not only leads to wasted energy but also reduces overall comfort. Traditional manual electricity meter readings are time-consuming and lack real-time insights, making it difficult to manage energy usage effectively. To address the challenge, an idea to utilize the Node MCU ESP8266 Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) module in combination with the Blynk 2.0 platform has been proposed, offering integrated automation and energy monitoring solutions that optimize efficiency and sustainability in modern homes. This solution enables relay-based control of alternating current (AC) appliances via the Blynk app or web dashboard, allowing users to remotely manage devices from any location. By implementing this approach, sustainability is enhanced as energy consumption is optimized, and the need for manual control is eliminated. Additionally, an Internet of Things (IoT) based smart electricity energy meter, equipped with the high-precision ACS712 sensor, has been developed to accurately measure current, power, and kWh consumption. The collected energy data is integrated into the Blynk 2.0 application, providing real-time insights through an intuitive dashboard that users can access from anywhere. Adopting this comprehensive solution eliminates energy waste, removes the need for manual intervention, and paves the way for smarter, more sustainable living environments.
