The present article proposes a modernized methodology for wireless drug delivery system with the focus on reducing the size of the entire system. Herein, the size reduction is achieved by removing the redundant components from within the device without affecting its overall functionality. This is achieved by using an external triangular microstrip patch antenna functioning at the frequency range of 5.725–5.825 GHz. It is used to control an absorber made up of gold in the shape of semi-capsule. The absorber material is developed to work in C-band with reflection coefficient of − 61.71 dB at 6 GHz range. Using the absorber material, removes the utilization of secondary antenna for controlling the drug delivery. Absorber material upon receiving he signal from external antenna is heated and burned thus releasing the drug at the specific target site. Thus, entire system can be simplified and device dimensions can be substantially reduced.
