The role of smart parking systems is very essential in the urban environments due to the following factors such as efficient use of space, reducing traffic congestion, enhanced convenience, efficiency of the cost, environmental benefits, improving the safety, data collection and analytics, and so on. These systems can also be assimilated with other smart kind of city technologies, such as traffic management systems and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, building a more connected and efficient urban environment. Overall, the ability of the smart parking systems addresses the challenges related to parking in growing urban areas, making cities more comfortable, efficient and environmental friendly. This paper presents about the smart parking system which is based on IoT and Cloud to solve parking issues in urban environment. This system deploys both ESP8266 Wi-Fi modules and the Firebase real-time database to assist with parking management. It keeps a record of parking spots on multiple buildings and shows real-time updates on LCD. Improving urban efficiency and helping to cut back on vehicle emissions, the system is directly adding to greater environmental sustainability. It also generates work positions and increases public welfare by reducing traffic congestion in the city, making urban mobility easier for everyone while improving quality of life. The innovative, smart solution also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as sustainable cities and communities and economic growth of the country.
