Crude helium extraction serves as a pivotal link in the industrial chain of helium extraction from natural gas. This process requires the removal of most methane, nitrogen, and other components from helium-containing natural gas to produce crude helium with a concentration no higher than 97.5%. Typically, crude helium extraction is accomplished using cryogenic technology, membrane separation technology, or a combination of both. Currently, the focus is on multi-product co-production technologies, diversifying the range of products to include helium, LNG, ethane, and other sources of raw materials. Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is also a widely applied method in industrial crude helium extraction. However, it is typically employed in combination with other technologies. PSA technology will be discussed in detail in Chap.  5 on crude helium refining technologies.

摘要
