Energy Storage Side Converter SOC Adaptive and Model Predictive Control

To address the issues of traditional Virtual DC machine control (VDCM) control, such as the inability to achieve adaptive adjustment of rotational inertia, poor robustness, slow dynamic response, and difficulty in controller parameter design, a Model Predictive Control (MPC) strategy was designed based on different operating modes of the interleaved parallel bidirectional DC/DC converter. Furthermore, to tackle the problem of energy storage devices not being able to operate in a healthy and safe manner over the long term, a Sigmoid function was introduced into the control model, enabling the energy storage devices to operate in a safe state and allowing for timely engagement and disengagement in regulation. A simulation model was built in MATLAB/Simulink, and the simulation results demonstrated that the proposed approach could enhance the response speed of the energy storage devices during load power changes and maintain the stability of the DC bus voltage.
