So far, we have focused mainly on the aspect of Future Design (FD) as a method of deliberation. However, how can we incorporate FD into the mechanisms of society? In this chapter, I would like to introduce two existing major trends to examine this. One is the “Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015,” enacted in Wales, UK, in 2015, which has a top-down character. The other is citizens’ assemblies, where citizens, rather than representatives, make political decisions in a bottom-up manner.

The other is citizens’ assemblies, where citizens, rather than representatives, make political decisions in a bottom-up manner.
