Overcoming the bottlenecks to successful project delivery is a cardinal mandate for stakeholders in the construction industry. Employing delivery methodologies such as remote construction management offers significant benefits that align with the aforementioned. This study seeks to assess the challenges confronting the implementation of remote construction management in the South African construction industry. Using a quantitative research design, the study collected data from construction professionals in the Gauteng province of South Africa, which were purposively sampled. The retrieved data was subjected to appropriate methods of data analysis, namely mean item score, Kruskal-Wallis h-test, and Student Newman Kaul post hoc test. The study’s findings indicated that the most significant challenges to the deployment of remote construction management are training and skills gap, cost of implementation, and technology integration. Based on the study’s outcome, recommendations were made to help drive the uptake of remote construction management to improve construction project delivery.
