This paper aims to establish the spiritual intelligence needs of the contemporary community to optimize mosque facilities. Previous studies found a generational gap in utilizing mosque facilities within communities which results in the mosque’s inability to accommodate the spiritual needs of all community members. This research embarked on a study on how mosque managers could evaluate mosque facilities to provide suitable programs to fulfill the current needs of the community. A case study research was conducted on nine district mosques in Selangor, Malaysia. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews with mosque managers and then analyzed using content analysis with 67% acceptance criteria. Results identified two factors relevant to establishing spiritual intelligence needs which are human factor comprising physical needs, social needs, and spiritual intelligence needs; and user factor which refers to contemporary community. The findings led to the development of the proposed Contemporary Community Need framework for community mosques. This framework will be integrated into a proposed automated evaluation system for facility optimization to enable mosque managers to offer suitable programs that meet the spiritual intelligence needs of their community.
