Siting Analysis of Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) Ground Stations for Low Altitude Surveillance
摘要
This paper is oriented to the low-altitude surveillance problem, considering the curvature of the earth, terrain masking and other factors affecting the ADS-B signal propagation, using the reference surface method to analyze the coverage of a single ADS-B signal; then inspired by the minimum set of coverage problems, an ADS-B network siting model is put forward, the model’s goal is to deploy the minimum number of ADS-B ground stations to cover the specified airspace range, and the Matlab software is used to Using Matlab software to solve the model to calculate the number and location of ADS-B ground stations; the article takes Jiangxi Province as an example, solving the model to cover the airspace above 600 m of the true height in Jiangxi Province, which needs to rely on the communication towers to set up 18 ADS-B ground stations, and finally, using the Global Mappe software to simulate the calculation results, which shows that the ground station location selected by the model can cover the specified airspace, and contains some redundancy. The results show that the ground station locations selected by the model can cover the specified airspace and contain certain redundancy.
