摘要
The digital age dramatically changes academic research and data analysis. Web scraping techniques applied to scientific repositories with special emphasis on data extraction from SCOPUS-A comprehensive study. This study examined the significance of SCOPUS data for nine famous higher education institutions in Iraq. This task involves many steps, such as the selection of a suitable data source, the use of web scraping tools and techniques, data collection, preprocessing, and consideration of ethical issues. The current study aims to present descriptive quantitative and qualitative analyses to reveal patterns of publications, collaboration networks, areas of interest, and scholarly influence. The results provide a bespoke view of research movements of all these universities involved in this study and can use them to motivating and directing scientific research plans and offer joint projects and strategies for each. Despite these challenges, including ethical concerns and data problems, this study opens doors for further exploration of analytics, interdisciplinary studies, and data fusion. Finally, the study emphasizes the importance of web scraping as a means of extracting academic data and how it can enable higher education institutions and universities to achieve academic great potential and innovation in terms of scientific research.
