Decentralized messaging is a system of communication where the messages are sent and received without any base of operations that dominates the flow of the messages. However, the network is established on a distributed system, where nodes are used to help store as well as transmit data. In comparison with the centralized systems, the decentralized messaging has stronger security and privacy features. The decentralized messaging systems cannot be easily censored since there is no single point of control, which can simply block or limit the access to the system. Before that, blockchain was utilized and it was found to have disadvantages as will be discussed herewith; for example, blockchains may suffer from high latency which implies that it takes a greater number of moments before one gets to confirm the transaction and get it incorporated into the chain. It can be costly, time consuming, may require much computation and power to sustain the network. Because of the issues present in centralized messaging, we are using decentralized messaging through Web Real-Time Communication WebRTC a system that allows real-time direct communication between users over the Internet with no central server. As in the case of WebRTC for decentralizing the messaging system, it allows the users to just directly converse with each other using their browser or mobile application. WebRTC has extremely low latency which is a much better and secure method of how user can communicate in real time.
