ICT and Smart Tourism: A Case Analysis of Chilika Lake’s Eco-Sustainable Tourism
摘要
This study examines the relationship between Information Communication Technology (ICT) and eco-sustainable tourism in the Chilika region. It notably focuses on Barkul, Rambha, and Satapada, and explores this relationship from the perspective of visitors. This study thoroughly examines the socio-demographic traits of visitors, their level of ICT usage, and their opinions on the integration of ICT in sustainable tourism through a comprehensive survey and detailed analysis. The findings highlight the varied socio-demographic profiles of tourists, emphasizing the need for ICT interventions to cater to a wide range of preferences and requirements. In addition, tourists’ perspectives on the integration of ICT to enhance their ecotourism experiences provide insights into the advantages and difficulties related to the adoption of technology. Therefore, the results generated via quantitative analysis provide significant knowledge for policymakers, tourism stakeholders, and environmental advocates that aim to achieve a balanced integration of ICT and ecological sustainability in Chilika and similar eco-sensitive places.
