Nanotechnology Revolution: Advancing Wastewater Remediation with Nano Adsorbents
摘要
Wastewater contamination is a significant global challenge that calls for innovative and sustainable technologies for remediation. The effective removal of a wide variety of pollutants from wastewater is a critical environmental constraint. The application of nano adsorbents is of utmost importance in wastewater remediation because of their distinctive and favorable characteristics, such as excellent reactivity, high surface area-to-volume ratio, and tunable properties. Nano adsorbents, such as graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes, metal–organic frameworks, nano zero-valent iron, nanoclays, and nano zeolites, have been used extensively for wastewater remediation. This study explores the unique characteristics of nano adsorbents, underlying mechanisms, and the complex processes that influence the adsorption of contaminants. The practical value of nano adsorbents in collecting diverse pollutants, including heavy metals, dyes, surfactants, pharmaceuticals, and personal care items, is shown by applications that take place in real-world applications. These applications also demonstrate the effectiveness of nano adsorbents in complicated wastewater matrices. The scope of the study includes the present difficulties and the potential for the future. It specifically addresses the possibility of scaling up, the economic viability, and the interaction with the existing wastewater treatment systems. This scientific investigation improves our knowledge of nano adsorbents as powerful instruments for environmentally responsible and technologically enhanced wastewater treatment. The on-going progress of these materials offers the potential for a more environmentally friendly and efficient method for addressing the complex challenges posed by wastewater contamination.
