Prevention of HCC
摘要
Understanding the risk factors for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) offers a critical opportunity to develop and implement effective prevention strategies aimed at reducing the global burden of the disease. Prevention efforts can be categorized into three levels: primary prevention, which targets risk factors and their early management; secondary prevention, which focuses on treating underlying liver diseases to prevent HCC development; and tertiary prevention, which aims to reduce the risk of recurrence following curative treatment. This chapter discusses the available methods for HCC prevention—primary, secondary, and tertiary—in the context of low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
