The automated mining of fully mechanized mining panel started in 1984 in Mogali County coal mine in West Virginia, the US. The landmark technology is the first use of electric and hydraulic control support, realizing the automatic propelling of hydraulic support, reducing the operating time of the hydraulic support, and guaranteeing the support of the initial support force and the propelling of the norms in place. 1990 later, the fully mechanized mining panel of the shearer, hydraulic support, AFC, and “three machines” automation technology is a mature and reliable operation. In the past 10 years, China has also made significant advances in intelligent mining technology in coal mines through the adoption of advanced automation technologies from the United States, Germany, and Australia, as well as through extensive independent research and development.
