IoT and Computational Bim Based Digital Twin for Sustainability Assessment: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities for Malaysia
摘要
The fourth industrial revolution has resulted in technologies that can improve processes ranging from design to operational decisions. The AEC industry has, however, been plagued with challenges such as slow adoption and integration of these technologies. This paper introduces the industry 4.0 tools and elucidates the challenges to adoption, especially at the O&M stage of existing buildings. It explores BIM as a driver for creating digital twins focusing on sustainability assessment. This study presents a brief background of the concepts and a concise review of extant literature. It subsequently uses VOSviewer and scientometric analysis to map out in a visual manner the most influential papers on the subject. Searches on the primary database Scopus identified for the study resulted in 449 documents, which were narrowed down to 412 to range from 2017 to 2022. A network visualisation of keywords, countries with the most citations and co-authorship is presented along with the implications and opportunities for future research, especially in Malaysia.
