The residential sector represents the largest segment within the real estate industry. While the physical nature of residential properties remains consistent, various aspects, such as pricing, can significantly differ. Facilities play a crucial role among the factors influencing individual preferences over time. This paper aims to shed light on the importance of facilities and the elements that impact people’s choices when selecting a place to reside. Through a comprehensive examination of these factors, the study provides valuable insights into their influence on residential property selection. To achieve this objective, an online survey was conducted took place over two weeks, involving 568 respondents, covering diverse types of properties in Skudai. The survey results highlight varying degrees of agreement among respondents regarding different variables associated with facilities. Some respondents strongly endorsed these variables, while others considered them of minimal significance in a neighbourhood setting. This research contributes to our understanding of the factors that shape residential property preferences, providing valuable insights for real estate professionals, developers, and policymakers seeking to align their offerings with evolving consumer demands.
