In the fifth year of the Tianxing Era of Emperor Daowu of Northern Wei (402), when the Northern Wei army defeated the army of Later Qin at Chaibi, Grand Astrologer Chao Chong reported a celestial phenomenon of “a lunar halo in the left corner of Constellation Jiao” and predicted that animals with horns would die of a sudden disease.
