Electrowinning is a widely accepted technique for the recovery of many industrial processes. Over the years, researchers have conducted several studies to enhance the electrowinning process by exploring the different parameters, methodologies, and forms of metal recovery. Therefore, the subject field was characterized by a wide range of disciplinary contributions, leading to a complex and diversified research landscape. Considering the growing recognition of the electrowinning process, it is imperative to improve our understanding of the advancement and status of electrowinning in the broader context of academic inquiry. The current study has four main objectives: (i) to determine research trends in electrowinning topics, (ii) to determine the most frequently cited studies in electrowinning research, (iii) to determine the countries contributing the most to electrowinning research, and (iv) to determine the most current developments and gaps in electrowinning based on bibliometric analysis. To achieve this goal, a bibliometric study was conducted using a dataset of 1197 journal articles obtained from the Scopus database. These phenomena have led to a notable increase in research efforts, highlighting the broad and varied range of studies. However, there remains the potential for further interdisciplinary collaboration and future research to explore the multifaceted contributions of diverse social groups and organizations to the electrowinning process.

摘要
