Design of Low-Profile Y-shaped Patch Antenna with DGS Technique for Ultra Wideband Applications
摘要
For ultra wideband (UWB) applications, a low profile, Y-shaped microstrip patch antenna with a simple defect ground structure has been proposed. Half ellipse structure is used as a defective ground structure in order to improve the antenna’s bandwidth. The radius of the half ellipse is determined using parametric analysis in order to tune UWB frequency applications. The proposed Y-shaped microstrip patch antenna achieves 10.15 GHz (15.19–5.03 GHz) impedance bandwidth with respect to the − 10 dB reference line of the reflection coefficient and resonates at 5.71 GHz, 8.03 GHz, 11.15 GHz and 14.38 GHz frequencies with an S11 of − 27.08 dB, − 17.89 dB, − 17.97 dB and − 21.09 dB, respectively. A good agreement between the designed and the measured parametric results of the projected antenna structure.
