This paper focuses on the development of a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) designed for optical communications such as LiDAR applications, utilizing the 180 nm technology node. In the proposed work concept of capacitive degeneration technique is used. Utilization of capacitive degeneration technique can upshot to a broader bandwidth by generating zero to nullify lower pole. The proposed inductorless transimpedance amplifier employs high gain, high bandwidth and low noise of the order of 60.3 dBΩ, 2.21 GHz and 9.5 pA/√Hz, respectively, with input parasitic capacitance of 50fF. The proposed design has a power dissipation of 4.5 mW for 1.8 V supply. This work has been designed in Cadence virtuoso platform and simulation results are discussed in the paper.
