摘要

In early 1997, the author in [1] proposed that the universe was accelerating and driven by what has been subsequently known as “dark energy”. In the author’s formulation, dark energy was the ubiquitous zero point energy. \(^{1}\) This went against the existing paradigm, which was that of a decelerating universe dominated, as it was thought, by dark matter. However, very soon thereafter came the observational confirmation for the author’s proposal. We go over these developments as also subsequent results.
