General Layout of ± 1100 kV Converter Station

Compared to ± 800 kV converter station, ± 1100 kV converter station has a larger transmission capacity and operates at higher voltage level. The AC yard, AC filter, converter yard, DC yard and other module areas of the station also need larger area, making it difficult to arrange reasonable layout scheme. Changji converter station, the sending station of the project, is co-constructed with the 750 kV substation in a same site. The HV and LV valve halls of each pole adopt a “face-to-face” layout, and the pole lines and DC filters adopt an internal layout scheme. Guquan converter station, the receiving station of the project, adopts a layered connection scheme for 500 kV and 1000 kV respectively. The valve hall adopts the single-line layout, and the pole lines and DC filters adopt an internal layout scheme. Also, two sets of synchronous condenser are configured inside. Layout schemes of these two stations basically contain all the possible factors of the layout schemes of China’s UHV converter stations, which shows great reference significance for subsequent projects.
