Bernard Stiegler views the contemporary world as a symptom whose cause he has to critically decipher in order to prescribe a cure. This simple structure—symptom-diagnosis-cure—which is perhaps the basis of any medical process places Stiegler as one of the last great “clinicians of civilization”. In this chapter, we would try to examine the question of Artificial Intelligence Technology as a “symptom” of our contemporary world. This “question” shall be posed in order to clear a path for thinking or better what calls for thinking.

摘要

Bernard Stiegler views the contemporary world as a symptom whose cause he has to critically decipher in order to prescribe a cure. This simple structure—symptom-diagnosis-cure—which is perhaps the basis of any medical process places Stiegler as one of the last great “clinicians of civilization”. In this chapter, we would try to examine the question of Artificial Intelligence Technology as a “symptom” of our contemporary world. This “question” shall be posed in order to clear a path for thinking or better what calls for thinking.
