Renewable energy sources are acquiring great attention nowadays for environmental concern. Renewable energy sources integration as distributed generators is common in power systems. For economical concern, the selection of the location and size of a distribute generator is controlling the feasibility of such installation. Metaheuristic techniques are playing an important role regarding such selection. Due its stochastic nature, it can properly solve nonlinear problems with various kinds of variables. It has so many applications in various fields, including power systems. This chapter explores the application of advanced metaheuristic optimization to enhance the integration and performance of renewable energy systems, focusing on maximizing efficiency within distribution networks.
