This study investigates how Active Constructive Responding (ACR), as positive feedback mechanisms, by a robot influences human emotions and perceptions. In a 2 \(\,\times \,\) 2 between-subjects online experiment, participants experienced a positive learning event, followed by feedback from the robot NAO, which provided either ACR or Passive Destructive Responding (PDR) feedback. The study also explores whether these feedback effects are enhanced when the robot uses a human voice. Results indicate that ACR significantly improves various aspects of human-robot interaction (HRI), including participants’ perceived likeability, their motivation to engage in further tasks, and their emotional experience. Additionally, ACR feedback increases the perceived anthropomorphism of the robot. However, no difference in perceived anthropomorphism was found between the robot’s human and robotic voice, and the anticipated enhancement from the human voice was not confirmed.
