With the development of international Chinese education and the intensifying study of complex networks, modeling and analyzing the definitions of Chinese characters using complex network theory has become an important research method. The Chinese character definitions from Baidu Chinese have been gradually selected and organized into three sets, constrained by the elementary three-level Chinese characters and Pinyin specified in the “Grading Standards”. Two categories of six networks have been generated. The topological network characteristics have been analyzed from the perspectives of degree of node, excess average hyperdegree of node, hyperdegree of hyperedge, hyperedge node degree, and clustering coefficient. This study offers insights into Chinese character definitions.

摘要
