Localized Massive Excitations of Quantum Gravity

A point-like particle with mass greater than the Planck mass is nothing but a black hole in Einstein’s theoryofgravity. This is because information of such a particle is hidden inside the horizon and is lost, as mentioned in Chap. 1 . In contrast, the asymptotically background-free quantum gravity suggests that there exists a localized excited stateExcited state of quantum gravity with mass exceeding the Planck mass, which has the size of the correlation length, has no singularity, and looks like a particle from the outside.
