Cultural heritage preservation and exploration have been greatly enhanced by the adoption of Virtual Reality (VR) technology, enabling immersive experiences that go beyond the limitations of the physical world. This study investigates the application of VR technology, with a human-centric approach, to enrich the digital exploration of Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments The objective of this paper is to enhance accessibility, engagement, and educational value through advanced VR techniques, thereby contributing to the continued appreciation and conservation of Ajanta's rich cultural legacy. To achieve this, we evaluate the performance of a digital heritage preservation system and predict the effectiveness of VR techniques in preserving Ajanta Caves’ cultural legacy. The evaluation is conducted using regression analysis based on data collected from visitors at Virtual tours of Ajanta Caves. This study enhances our understanding of how human-centric design strategies, including VR technology, contribute to preserving and presenting cultural heritage sites in the digital world.
