Qatar has become a destination for South Korean professional migrants who seek opportunities to work and build their lives, where they also form and nurture families. This chapter examines various aspects of family life among South Korean transnational families in Qatar, shedding light on family formation, fertility behavior, parenting practices, and the challenges of living and working abroad. It explores how these families balance cultural preservation with the demands of life in Qatar, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong ties to their homeland through regular visits. The chapter reveals that while navigating the complexities of family formation and child-rearing is challenging on foreign soil, South Korean families strive to reinforce their cultural identity and connections with their motherland.
