Family studies in Kuwait underwent various developments driven by societal changes, research advancements, and the recognition of the importance of understanding family dynamics for the well-being of individuals and communities. The current study provides a review of existing literature to show the extent of the development of family studies in Kuwait during the past four decades and the factors that contributed to this development. This review concludes with the suggestion that family research in Kuwait is at the threshold of theoretical development and requires improvement in the quality of research methods to build sound theory.
