This chapter examines how Qatar’s quest for gender equality, a core goal of the Qatar National Vision 2030 (Government Communication Office. https://www.gco.gov.qa/en/about-qatar/national-vision2030/ ), has influenced Qatari women's participation in the labor force. Despite their academic qualifications and government initiatives, Qatari women stay underrepresented in mainstream jobs and leadership positions. Using a feminist geographic perspective, the chapter explores how patriarchy contributes to this imbalance. The concept of “gendered space” is analyzed as a key barrier while analyzing the factors like family expectations and societal norms that limit women’s roles. The chapter also investigates how Qatari women navigate these challenges by bargaining with patriarchy.
