This paper conducts a systematic review on the integration between the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) to ensure a more efficient and better healthcare system. The study surveys the current trends performed, the challenges encountered, and the potential remedies to the adoption of GAI and IoMT on the healthcare sector. Further, this paper enquires into the role of GAI in the performance of remote patient monitoring and the application of the real-time clinical decision-making on the prevalence of the onset of diseases. Additionally, the performance of GAI in utilizing IoMT data endeavors to address tasks and prioritize patient care, particularly focusing on those ranked with higher risks. This review also presents insights into challenges and opportunities, while providing practical solutions and future research directions.
