Cloud-Trust: A Cloud Security Assessment Model for Mitigating Advanced Persistent Threats in Cloud Computing Systems

The systems that use the cloud for face significant vulnerabilities to sophisticated, long-lasting dangers posing grave concerns for both government and industry sectors. In response, this paper introduces a comprehensive cloud architecture reference model fortified with diverse safeguards and recommended procedures. Moreover, it demonstrates Cloud-Trust, a novel model for evaluating cloud security is designed to gauge high-level security metrics that can be used to measure how secure and private CCS or Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). The purpose of this research was to use Cloud-Trust to compare and contrast four different IaaS cloud architectures in terms of security. Everyone has their own special set of safeguards in place for their cloud. According to the research, CCS penetration is more likely when there aren’t enough security measures in place, which is particularly problematic when it comes to high-value data. Unauthorized access to CCS can be lessened by implementing a thorough cloud security architecture. An architecture like this would protect virtual machine (VM) images while they’re not being used. It would also strengthen access controls for CSPs and cloud tenants’ system administrators and use extra network security protocols to stop cloud network surveillance and the finding of live VMs. These findings underscore the imperative for robust security frameworks in CCSs to effectively mitigate APTs and safeguard sensitive data.
