Helmet Detection and Vehicle Number Plate Extraction Using YOLOv8 and Tesseract OCR
摘要
The act of helmet detection and number plate extraction is an analysis of visual data and automation of violation detection of two-wheel riders not wearing helmet. Keeping such measures can help in sharply detecting such violations, encouraging drivers to abide by the regulations imposed by the authorities. In this paper, we propose the utilization of YOLOv8 algorithm and Tesseract OCR application for training real-world datasets to enable a system that can detect on-road violations where drivers ignore wearing helmets. Our experiments have demonstrated the potentiality of the proposed model to contribute significantly to road safety and law enforcement applications.
