This chapter describes the importance of virtual reality (VR) in the field of architecture and the ways it benefits the industry in Japan. VR is a technology that enables architects to create immersive 3D environments, which is beneficial for the owner to understand the architect’s intentions. Other applications include safety management in architecture construction and architectural education. VR is also effective not only in architecture, but also in consensus-making for urban projects. If the functional limitations of the Head Mounted Display are eliminated through technological development in the future, they can be used to a greater degree in the construction industry.
