Student Agency for Sustainable Access and Quality in Higher Education
摘要
Defining and assessing quality in higher education is as challenging as at other levels of education. It cannot be defined without discussing values. We believe that future teachers can contribute to a sustainable society, a proactive and inclusive environment and a culture of positive recognition and learning if they have the conditions/process to live and influence the life and development of communities—by participating in planning, design, implementation and evaluation already during their studies. The paper is based on qualitative research methodology. Participants were higher education students (n = 13), members of the Student Council of the Faculty of Education from Slovenia. We were interested in how students experience the possibility to influence the sustainability of accessibility and quality of the faculty within the framework of the pedagogical study programmes. The results showed that students have the opportunity to influence the educational process and quality and to develop skills for active participation in society in the future, but at the same time they need support, involvement and to experience the meaningfulness of their own actions for a sustainable future.
