Liaoning People’s Art Theater (LPAT), formerly known as Northeast People’s Art Theater, which was called one of China’s four major theatres by the late Premier Zhou EnlaiZhou, Enlai, was established in Shenyang, Liaoning Province on October 2, 1951. In August 1954, the Northeast Administrative Region was abolished, and the original East Liaoning Repertory Theatre and West Liaoning Repertory Theatre were merged into the theater and renamed Liaoning People’s Art Theater.
